How to Find Your Google Business Profile ID (Place ID) in 2026
Step-by-step guide to finding your Google Business Profile ID, also called your Google Place ID. You'll need it for review links, API integrations, and more.

Your Google Business Profile ID (also called a Google Place ID) is a unique identifier that Google assigns to every business listed on Google Maps. You’ll need it to create direct review links, connect third-party tools, and use Google’s APIs.
Here’s how to find yours in under a minute.
What is a Google Business Profile ID?
Every business on Google Maps has a unique Place ID — a string of letters and numbers that looks something like this:
ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4This ID never changes, even if you update your business name, address, or other details. It’s Google’s permanent reference to your specific business listing.
You might also hear it called:
- Google Place ID
- GBP ID
- Google Maps ID
- Business listing ID
They all refer to the same thing.
Why you might need your Google Business Profile ID
Common reasons you’d need to find this:
- Creating a direct Google review link — The review link format uses your Place ID
- Connecting review management tools — Tools like Ricorda use your Place ID to monitor and request reviews
- Using Google’s APIs — The Places API, Maps API, and Business Profile API all use Place IDs
- Embedding Google Maps — Some embed methods require the Place ID
- Verifying your listing — Confirming you’re working with the right business profile
Method 1: Use our free tool (fastest)
The quickest way to find your Place ID is to use our Google Review Link Generator. Just:
- Type your business name
- Select it from the dropdown
- Your Place ID is automatically extracted and used to create your review link
This also gives you a short, shareable review link as a bonus.
Method 2: Google’s Place ID Finder
Google provides an official tool for looking up Place IDs:
- Go to the Google Place ID Finder
- Type your business name in the search box on the map
- Click your business when it appears
- The Place ID will display in the info card below the map
Copy the string that starts with ChIJ — that’s your Place ID.
Method 3: From Google Maps URL
You can extract your Place ID directly from a Google Maps URL:
- Go to Google Maps
- Search for your business
- Click on your business listing
- Look at the URL in your browser’s address bar
The URL will contain a section that looks like:
/place/Your+Business+Name/@43.123,-79.456,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x89d4cb90d7585d21:0x2e7ae0e6c4f22b4fThe hex string after !1s (in this example 0x89d4cb90d7585d21:0x2e7ae0e6c4f22b4f) is one form of the identifier, but it’s not the standard Place ID format.
For the standard ChIJ... format, use Method 1 or 2 instead.
Method 4: From Google Business Profile Manager
If you manage your listing through Google Business Profile:
- Sign in at business.google.com
- Select your business
- Look at the URL — it will contain your business identifier
- Alternatively, go to the “Info” section and look for your Place ID in the advanced settings
Note: Google has been updating the Business Profile Manager interface frequently, so the exact location may shift.
Method 5: Using the Google Places API
If you’re a developer or using tools that integrate with Google’s API:
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/findplacefromtext/json?input=YOUR_BUSINESS_NAME&inputtype=textquery&fields=place_id&key=YOUR_API_KEYThe response will include your place_id.
This method requires a Google Cloud API key with the Places API enabled.
How to create a Google review link from your Place ID
Once you have your Place ID, creating a direct review link is straightforward:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_IDReplace YOUR_PLACE_ID with your actual Place ID. When someone clicks this link, it opens Google directly on your review page — no searching required.
Or skip the manual work and use our review link generator to create a short, professional link automatically.
What if you can’t find your business?
If your business doesn’t appear when you search:
- You might not have a Google Business Profile yet. Create one for free at business.google.com.
- Your business name might be slightly different. Try searching with your exact registered name, or search by address instead.
- Your listing might not be verified. Unverified listings sometimes don’t appear in search. Complete the verification process (Google will send a postcard or phone verification).
- Your business might be too new. New listings can take a few days to appear in Google Maps.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Don’t confuse your Place ID with your CID (Customer ID). The CID is a numeric identifier used in some Google URLs. The Place ID is the
ChIJ...string. - Don’t use someone else’s Place ID. If you have multiple locations, make sure you’re grabbing the right one.
- Place IDs don’t change. Once you find yours, save it somewhere. You won’t need to look it up again.
